A few weeks ago, myself and a few friends got our hands on some free passes to Siggraph, a huge industry convention for animation and various new technologies.

I went out of curiosity mostly, not having a portfolio or resume as of yet. While I was there, I spotted a booth for DeviantART! They had some monitors and seats, and a guest-list going on. While I was entering my name into it, I started to chat with one of the women working there. We got to talking, and I told her all about how I've met several amazing artists on here, and how the community was so useful for development and how much I've grown since I joined.

I mentioned that I really loved the new system for viewing thumbnails of deviations in your message box; I'd had a short subscription once, and it was so wonderful to have the thumbnail feature. Making it available for everyone was just so wonderful.

She brought Moonbeam13 over, (who has the coolest hair ever!) and she gave me a year subscription and a print account for sticking with DA all these years!!

I felt so enheartened, and it really made my day. And now, I must learn how to make the most of this. I'd love to figure out how to put neat graphics in my journal (I'm thinking it's got something to do with that CSS button...)

Maybe then I'd write in it more!
